1969 Plymouth GTX

(2017 to 2020)

A 440 4-speed GTX, one of only 45 R6 Red known built, with the equally rare A4 Pewter interior. Restored in 2006 to 2009 to almost flawless condition, it was awarded Gold Certification at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN). The car passed through several owners and auctions before I acquired it and had started to become a little tired. Fortunately all it needed to bring it back was some solid TLC and a few parts (starter, clutch linkage rebuild, carb rebuild, freshening of the engine bay, replace tarnished trim, fixed the radio) and the bumper guards (just because they look cool).

At the bottom of the photo gallery are several pictures of the car prior to restoration. I had been familiar with this car for a long time due to a website that used to be run by the restorer, and which I used to frequent, that showed extremely detailed pictures with text regarding how to do various projects. As I acquired the car, the restorer was kind enough to provide me with an astonishing amount of information and pictures of the car and restoration. I obtained a copy of the build sheet through Galen Govier’s office who had a copy on file.

A great car. However, when I picked up the ‘70 Challenger at Mecum the “two car rule” kicked in and the GTX was sold.
